Amber Munir

Munir prefers to explore varied mediums and surfaces; she has a geometric obsession and exploits Islamic geometric patterns and angular lettering such as Kufic script extensively to pay homage to the Islamic art of scripting. Specifically, this calligraphic art work is produced by employing thread on fabric in cross stitching embroidery technique in is an attempt to pursue some distinctive mediums and surface for angular textual composition.

Date of Birth: 1982-01-01 in Lahore, Pakistan.

Qualification: Amber Munir is a Lahore based visual art practitioner. Her formal education is MA, MS/Mphil and a PhD scholar in Studio Practice, Fine Arts. Her passion for art, became profession in 2006 and presently she is government employed as Lecturer/university art teacher.
